Visiting World Heritage Sites
Nepal is host to ten World Heritage Sites recognized by UNESCO. The seven sites located in Kathmandu Valley are Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur district; the Buddhist Stupas in Swayambhu and Bouddhanath, and Hindu temples of Pashupatinath and Changunarayan.
The three other World Heritage Sites are Lumbini the birthplace of Gautama Buddha (founder of Buddhism), Chitwan National Park, Sagarmatha National Park (Mt. Everest region)
